Ms. Adler will be posting about upcoming school district art competitions on this page. Coming soon.
District Art Competition-
Over 300 student art pieces are unveiled for the school year. Ms. Adler will pick her top picks to be entered into the competition. The school district will then pick the pieces they would like to have in the show. The selection process happens in late Spring. The pieces are then professionally framed during the summer. The show will then be in the Fall at the Administration Building.
Youth Art Month/Capital Exhibit-

Artwork will be reviewed by a panel of jurors.

8 pieces will be selected to represent CISD in the next round of selections.

Final Selected artwork will be displayed at the State Capitol.

Open to all grade levels.

Teachers to deliver artwork to Susan Vein - Central Administration Building.
Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo-
Western Art Competition
Artwork Delivery Date: January 2024
Location: Oak Ridge HS 9th Grade Campus (tentative)
Competition Date: January 2024

Open to Kindergarten - 12th grade

Ms. Adler will hand select her top student pieces.

The artwork must adhere to all HLSR guidelines.

Minimum size: 11” x 14” (including mat), Maximum Size: 18” x 24” (including mat). Mat not to exceed 3 ½”
-
No reflective or secondary surfaces.
-
No logos or trademarks.
-
All work must be western themed.
Visual Arts Scholastic Event-
Texas Elementary Art Meet
TEAM-Vase
Entry Deadline: March (tentative)
Competition Date: April (tentative)

Subject matter and medium are open to student choice, but must fall within the contest guidelines.

The teacher must be a member of the Texas Art Educators Association.

An entry fee is required. Possibilities to cover competition fees are school budgetary funds made available by the principal, student activity fund, or the campus PTO.

Requirements: Black or white mate, no minimum size, 24”x36” maximum (including mat), can not extend more the 3” from surface of 2D work, 3D work must stand alone or be attached to a base. Mat may not exceed 3”.
